As written by Michael:
As the holiday season approached our GameStop, we found ourselves in need of more employees. Among the influx of nerdy, socially awkward applicants, one stood out. A cheerful, bubbly, and undeniably cute girl walked in, leaving a lasting impression on me despite our brief interaction.
A week later, my boss asked for recommendations for a new hire. I immediately thought of that bubbly girl and suggested interviewing her. Soon after, she started working with us.
Being the professional I am, I refrained from flirting on the job, especially after learning she had a boyfriend. As we worked many shifts together, she grew tired of the shy, quiet boy she was constantly working with. Fortunately, she also played World of Warcraft, which provided the perfect icebreaker. We exchanged gamer names (Kittywampus and Chiistar. You may hear us refer to each other as Kitty and Chii) and began having conversations about life and music while playing online, getting to know each other better.
Our connection was strong, and she was nearing the end of her long but already dead relationship. We believed we were destined to be together forever. For three years, we tried to make the relationship work but eventually realized we weren't ready. It was time to go our separate ways and mature.
Four years passed, during which she found another love and even got engaged. However, it wasn't meant to be, and the engagement ended. I heard from a friend that she was going through a tough time. I reached out to her, offering support and reassurance that everything would be okay.
We met up shortly after to catch up, taking things slow as she made it clear she wanted to be alone for a while before committing to another relationship. Seven months later, she agreed to give us another chance, telling me this better be it. Over the next six years, we grew together, deepening our bond and understanding of each other.
On December 24th, 2024; I proposed to Sirena Hallett, the love of my life.
Looking forward to many more years.
